EchoFOR GROWN-UPS

Curiosity, with care.

Ask Echo is a question inbox operated by Echo Science Bat. A parent, guardian or teacher should submit questions together with the child. This is an editorial submission service; it does not provide instant AI answers.

What we save

We save the science question, one first name or nickname, the choice about first-name credit, confirmation that an adult is submitting, and the submission date. Please do not include a full name, address, school, email, phone number, links or other identifying details in the question.

How we use it

Echo’s team reviews questions to plan science videos. Submission does not guarantee an answer or video. Raw submissions are private. A separately reviewed version of a question may appear on the website without a name. We may mention the submitted first name or nickname in a video only when the adult has selected that permission.

Retention and deletion

Unselected submissions expire after 90 days. Shortlisted or filmed submissions may be retained for up to one year from the latest selection. Expired records are removed by a daily cleanup job. Keep the receipt shown after submission and include it when requesting removal or correction. Removing a submission cannot automatically remove a name from a video already published; contact us to discuss a published-video request.

Hosting and technical data

The website is hosted on Netlify and submissions are stored in Netlify Blobs. When email notifications are enabled, the question, receipt and permitted first-name credit are delivered privately to Echo’s team through Resend. A name without credit permission is omitted from notification emails. Hosting and security providers may process technical request information to deliver and protect the site. We do not add advertising trackers or analytics, and we do not request photos, audio, email addresses or account creation from children. The creator inbox uses an essential sign-in cookie.
